As 2020 drew to a close, many were reminiscing on an especially antisocial year and what it had taken to keep themselves sane. For some it meant using Zoom for a weekly family quiz, an online fitness class, spending more time in the garden or even fixing an old bike for an hour's daily exercise.
For Wolverhampton artist, Kupid the King, it was writing, recording, directing, producing and starring in a concept masterpiece. From his small home studio, he managed to rally up help from some of the Midlands most profound talent. Photographers, dancers, actors, set designers, costume designers and film crew; to make up a tight knit machine that would bring the idea to life for a project that rivals that of his previous cinematic music video “The Fall”, with it’s epic scenery, contemporary movement and outstanding costume design as well as managing to tackle social issues and touching on men’s mental health, bereavement and black people in professional roles.
Since September Kupid has been working alongside producers, engineers and content creators to explore fresh sounds and styles for his new and loyal followers! This year Kupid the King will release his first full body of work, which includes tracks produced by Wolverhampton's own Ali “The Kid” Davidson, Chicago’s Marc Brook and Keith “Spock” Dilworth who has also recorded, engineered and mastered the whole project at APS Studios in Wolverhampton.
Most will agree that 2020 was a year full of surprises, but while many struggled to find inspiration, Kupid used the uncertainty as motivation and has been working hard behind the scenes for months to bring a glow into 20Twenty:One that will entertain, encourage and support friends and followers from all walks of life,
Kupid has dedicated the best of his time, effort & resources, working alongside Ayy, APS Studios & Shot by Sensei to bring you none stop magic this year!
