My name is Jayden Stevenson, my artist name is Sensei Jay. I’m a creative at heart with different creative talents under my belt.
Raised in the West Midlands, acting has been my creative roots, the love starting in high school, straight to college, I attended a part time drama school and once that was finished, I transitioned to music. I started off with poetry back in 2019, after performing at a poetry jam called Beatfreeks, I used that as a launchpad to jump into music.
During lockdown in 2020, I was writing songs after songs, waiting for the opportunity to jump into a recording studio.
By 2021, I was networking, recording, dropping song after song, all the way to 2022, where I was able to perform live at a couple of events from birthday parties to colleges.

Writing all my songs, mixing it with poetry, my music covers topics/themes about life, God, friendships, family, romance, mental health over boom bap, jazz, ambient, lofi and soul type beats.
Being inspired by Hip Hop, lyrical/conscious rappers in particular, examples including Nas, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, I incorporate old and new school music into my work to make it my own.

I also delve into other creative ventures including creative writing, with that I’m writing fictional novels from superhero to crime stories.
Writing since high school, I’ve been planning to release my own books but in the meantime, I utilise Wattpad to showcase my writing style and skills.
I feel like a prodigy ready to show the world my creativity come to life.
I aim to be an inspiration to a generation, wanting others to feel motivated to reach their own dreams.
